Hi, I’m Luca and this space was created with the intent to share my journey in astrophotography by presenting a selection of shots taken during my night sky observing sessions. Each photograph is featured by detailed information regarding the acquisition process, including the techniques used and the equipment employed. It’s my hope that this information will serve as a guide for those who wish to better understand the world of astrophotography and approach this fascinating discipline.

So long and thanks for all the fish. 🐬

Luca is an amateur astrophotographer with a degree in Chemistry, and he's on a mission to bring these two fields together through the study of the interaction between radiation and matter (spectroscopy).

He started astrophotography in 2022, focusing for a year on lunar and planetary photography, as his first telescope was a Celestron Powerseeker 127 EQ, which he didn't particularly like.

Then, in January 2023, he got his hands on his first professional telescope, a C8 XLT, which he set up on a Celestron Advanced VX equatorial mount. With the help of his close friend and photographer, Giuseppe, he learned the ropes of using an uncooled ASI 183 camera. As time went on, he put in many dedicated nights of practice, honing his skills and sharing his knowledge with other astrophotographers.

In June 2024, he finally purchased his first cooled camera, a Touptek ATR294 C Pro, which was joined over time by another telescope, a SW 72 ED, and various instrumentation to help him get better and better at this magnificent and fulfilling passion.

His goal for the future is to continue to improve and integrate as many signals as possible to reveal the densest structures in the universe.

Until then, thank you so much for taking the time to visit, and I hope you have some clear skies where you are!
